"We Are Not Alone" is a fast-paced synth-rock song by Karla DeVito, that appears in The Breakfast Club. It is heard in a montage, where John, Andrew, Allison, Claire, and Brian are seen dancing in the library.
Appearance[]
Brian is seen going in an office in the library, where he activates a record player connected to the PA system, starting the song.
Differences between the movie version and the soundtrack version[]
- In the movie, the guitar solo comes at the start of the song; on the soundtrack, the guitar solo is in the middle of the song.
- In the movie, the song starts with a drum beat and then a record needle scratch, before cutting into the guitar solo; on the soundtrack, the song starts with a bass fill, before cutting into the intro.
- In the movie, the song is much shorter than on the soundtrack, and skips to the third pre-chorus and chorus (which have more guitar than the first pre-chorus and chorus) after the first verse, and the fifth chorus and outro lyrics are skipped as well.
- In the movie, the song is more reverberant than on the soundtrack.
- In the movie, the song ends with its repetitive riff, followed by the same drum beat that it started with before cutting off; on the soundtrack, it ends with a fade-out as Karla DeVito repeats the line "After all."
